Today we have access to complete brands and models rankings for Mexico in June, apart from BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes models which are the best-kept secret in the country’s industry. Nissan manages to place seven nameplates inside the Top 12, cementing their legendary domination in Mexico, that is also unique in the world. The Chevrolet Sonic makes a surprise appearance inside the Top 10 in 7th place thanks to 3.509 sales, the Chevrolet Trax doubles its sales year-on-year but remains far off the Top 10 at #15, the Nissan NP300 Frontier surges 143% thanks to the arrival of the new generation surprisingly not on sale yet in the neighbouring U.S.
As it has been the case in every single market it has launched so far, the Honda HR-V is a smashing success in Mexico: already up to #19 in June with 1.655 sales but it has had a negative impact on its larger brother the CR-V down 20% to #22. Launched just over a year ago, the Hyundai Grand i10 leads the Korean charge and breaks into the Mexican Top 20 in June at #20, the Ram Pickup is up 66% to #21, the Dodge Attitude lands at #23, the Ford Ikon is up 99% to #27 and the Ford Ranger up 105% to #31.
Further down, notice the Toyota Avanza up 114% to #38, the VW Golf arriving at #43, the Mitsubishi Mirage at #48 and the Renault Logan at #50 after a failed attempt at selling the previous generation of the model as the Nissan Aprio locally. The Mazda2 is up 129% to #53, the Fiat Uno up 152% to #75 and the Ford Mustang smashes into the Mexican Top 100 at #94 and 176 sales, up 12-fold on June 2014.
