Irish car buyers are getting a good hold of the new bi-annual license plate change modelled on the UK: for its third year, new car sales hit 27.633 units in July, up 47% on July 2014 which was itself up 61% on July 2013. In fact, 19 times as many cars were sold in Ireland in July than in June. This lifts the year-to-date total up 30% on 2014 to 109.960 units. Over in the models charts it’s a very stable ranking indeed, with the VW Golf in pole position just above the Nissan Qashqai (+10), Ford Focus, Fiesta and Skoda Octavia.
