Greece June 2015: Suzuki Celerio breaks into Top 10

In the face of bailout uncertainty, the Greek new car market slows its growth in June but stays largely in positive at 8.999 registrations and +13% on June 2014 which was itself up 41% on June 2013. The year-to-date total halfway through 2015 stands at 43.142 deliveries, up 15% on the same period in 2014. Nissan triumphs once again in the brands ranking with 978 sales and 10.9% share and now ranks #2 year-to-date below just Toyota at 9.7% vs. 10.6%. Volkswagen is up 49% to 2nd place, Opel down 3% to #3, Toyota down 19% to #4 and Peugeot up 124% to #5. Suzuki leaps up 47% to 6th overall, placing the Celerio inside the Greek monthly Top 10 for the first time at #6 and the Vitara at #30, Seat is up 32% year-on-year and 10 spots on May to #9, positioning the Ibiza at #9 (#25 year-to-date), the Leon at #26 (#48) and the Mii at #31 (#56).
The VW Polo is the best-selling model in Greece in June.
Citroen and BMW are both up 68%, Mini is up 55%, Smart up 650% and Jeep up 22-fold! Model-wise, ironically the VW Polo jumps 3 spots on last month to become the best-seller in the country in June with 439 sales and 4.9% share just above the Nissan Micra at 425 units and 4.7% while the Opel Corsa rounds up the podium ahead of the year-to-date leader the Toyota Yaris. In fact, with the Fiat Panda at #5 and the Hyundai i10 at #8, the entire Greek Top 10 in June is composed of minis or superminis. The Nissan Qashqai is the best of the rest at #11. Notice also the Nissan Note up 40 ranks on May to #14 and the Mercedes A-Class up 8 to #16.
