Romania February 2015: Dacia and Skoda monopolise Top 4

After dropping by 3% in January, the Romanian new car market is back up an encouraging 13% year-on-year in February to 4,116 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 9,094 units, now up 4% on 2014. Local manufacturer Dacia outperforms its home market with sales up 40% to a gargantuan 32.3% share, almost 3 times that of any other manufacturer. Skoda (+11%) follows at 11.1% share, ahead of Volkswagen (+9%) and Ford (-47%) while Opel (+104%) and Kia (+447%) deliver the largest improvements in the Top 15. Model-wise, the Dacia Logan is faithful to the pole position it has been holding without interruption for 126 consecutive months now, beating the Dacia Duster, Skoda Octavia and Skoda Rapid.
