It’s a year to forget for the Omani new car market: down 5% to 208,029 registrations. Surprisingly, Oman is the one country in the world where Toyota manages its highest market share at an astounding 55.6%, selling 5.5 times more than any other brand in the market… Nissan follows very far at 10.2% ahead of Hyundai at 9.7%, Kia at 5.3% and Lexus at 4.1%. Ford is the only non-Asian brand in the Top 11 at #8. Model-wise, despite sales down an estimated 12%, the Toyota Hilux keeps the lead at 11.3% share but the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up is catching up at +11% to 10.3%, lodging once again a world-best performance in Oman. The Toyota Prado and Land Cruiser both hold 8.8% of the Omani market, above the Hiace and Corolla, making the Top 6 100% Toyota. The Nissan Patrol is up 20% to #7, Hyundai Santa Fe up 45% to #10 and Toyota Yaris up 59% to #17.
