As is the tradition on BSCB I can now give you more detail about the Italian models ranking. And there is a lot of movement beyond the familiar Top 50, starting with the Mercedes GLA up a further 7 ranks on August to land at a record… #51 with 616 sales and 0.6%, only two units off its first Top 50 ranking which should happen within the next few months. Boosted by the new model, the Mini is up another 3 ranks on last month to #58 vs. #74 year-to-date while the Ford Ecosport smashes its record Italian ranking anew, up 17 spots to #59, and here to a Top 50 performance in the next couple of months is in the cards. The VW Golf Sportsvan continues its progression, up 9 ranks to #66, whereas the Peugeot 108 stalls at #68 for now and the Suzuki Alto is up a fantastic 29 spots to #77.
We have 3 all-new nameplates making their grand entrance in the Italian Top 150 in September: the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer lands directly at a beautiful 79th spot with 346 sales, the Citroen C4 Cactus is not far behind at #88 and 292 units while the Nissan Pulsar is a notch below at #132 with 119 sales. Notice also the Fiat Sedici getting an nth (last?) wind, up 46 spots to #95, the Kia Soul breaking into the Italian Top 100 at #99, the BMW X4 missing out on doing the same thing for 3 spots, up 36 ranks to #103, the Porsche Macan down 13 ranks to #109 but still selling 5 times more than the brand’s second best-seller at 203 units vs. 40 for the Porsche 911, and the Jeep Renegade taking a tiny break for now, down 3 spots to #119.
