Thanks to SMMT, I can now unveil the 10 best-sellers for each nation in the UK in June, all in one update. Keep in mind this is a zoom in into each nation, all figures are already included in the UK overall June update. The overall UK market is up 6% year-on-year in June, and we are back to England being the true engine of growth: up 7% along with Wales while Northern Ireland (+2%) and Scotland (+1%) deliver more conservative growth rates. Last month the Dacia Sandero simultaneously appeared in 3 nations Top 10 for the first time, and this month it appears in none, but a few other models make sparks…

Mini UK June 2014The Mini is #9 in Scotland this month.

In Scotland, the Ford Fiesta reclaims the pole position it holds year-to-date thanks to a splendid 1,074 sales and 5.6% share, knocking the Vauxhall Corsa down to #3 while the Ford Focus is back up two spots on May to #2. The Toyota Yaris jumps leaps and bounds straight to 4th place whereas we had not see it appear inside the Top 10 since BSCB started following UK nations monthly one year ago. Same goes for the Mini at #9, potentially thanks to the new generation now spreading across dealerships.

Nissan Juke UK June 2014Nissan Juke (US model shown)

In Northern Ireland too the Ford Fiesta is back to #1 with a very strong 5.5% share vs. 4.1% year-to-date, followed by the Ford Focus while the VW Golf drops to #3 after leading the market in May. The big performer this month here is the Nissan Juke shooting back into the Top 10 directly in 4th place with 2.8% share, and now #9 year-to-date. Notice also the Seat Ibiza up to #6, the Hyundai ix35 up 2 spots to #8 and the Renault Captur remaining solid at #9.

Ford Kuga UK June 2014Ford Kuga

In Wales, the models ranking is getting closer to the overall UK market with the Ford Fiesta followed by the Focus and Vauxhall Corsa but the real stars of the month are the Ford Kuga up a further 3 spots on an already excellent 7th place in May to a brilliant #4 spot with 2.2% share and the Toyota Aygo landing in the Top 10 for the first time at #5, potentially due to a combination of runout prices for the old gen and the striking new gen bursting onto the scene.

In England, traditionally the models ranking is very similar to the overall UK one given England accounts for 85.5% of the total in June. This month the difference comes towards the end of the Top 10 with BMW 3 Series and the Audi A3 overtaking the Ford 500 to position themselves in 8th and 9th places respectively and knocking the Italian charmer down to #10. On top, the Ford Fiesta makes it 4 nations out of 4 in pole position, with the Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Focus rounding out the podium.
