After exploring the Top 15 brands and Top 80 models in France in March, as is the tradition on BSCB we now dig a little deeper to find out what’s happening lower in the ranking. As far as brands are concerned, Dacia remains the biggest gainer inside the Top 20 (+53%) ahead of Suzuki (+40%) and Volvo (+27%). Below, we have Lancia up 133% to #22, Mazda up 46% to #24 and Lexus up 35% to #29, Model-wise, the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross is up 23 spots on last month to hit a best-ever #72, the BMW 3 Series GT breaks into the Top 100 for the first time at #98 and the Opel Adam is back in it at #88.
Recent premium launches are starting to make serious waves in the ranking: the Mercedes GLA shoots up 162 spots on February to stop only 4 ranks off the Top 100 at #104 with 314 sales (already above the CLA at #121), the BMW 4 Series is up a further 11 spots to #106, the 3rd generation Mini is up 42 to #112 with 276 units, the BMW 2 Series is up 14 to #158 but the BMW i3 is down 8 to #201.
This month we welcome 3 all-new entrants in the French ranking, led by the Citroen C4 Cactus at #170 with 86 sales for now, all demo models as the vehicle hasn’t hit dealerships yet. The Porsche Macan lands at #241 with 19 sales and the Ford Ecosport appears at #269 with 7 units. Notice also the Tesla Model S down 7 ranks to #231 with 25 sales and the Maserati Ghibli down 43 to #232 at 24 units.
