Sweden November 2013: Toyota RAV4 and Suzuki SX4 shine

The Swedish new car market is down a mere 1% year-on-year in October to 24,738 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 243,135 units, down 4% on 2012. The Volvo V70 improves its market share for the third consecutive month to 8.2% thanks to 2,018 sales, its best share at home in almost a year. The Volvo S/V60 is back up to #2 at 1,401 units and 5.7%, just above the VW Golf at 1,398 sales and the VW Passat at 1,157. The Volvo V40 returns to its year-to-date ranking at #5 with 848 units and 3.4% while the Audi A4 is up 10 ranks on last month to #9. All these Volvos performing well put the brand above 20% share at home for the first time in a while.
Further down, notice the Renault Megane up 14 spots to #10, the VW Polo up 6 to #11, the Toyota RAV4 up 23 to an all-time high #21, the Mercedes C-Class up 13 to #23 and the Renault Captur up 18 to a record #24 with 1% market share. The new model pushes the Suzuki SX4 up to a fantastic 27th place with 209 sales and 0.8% vs. 0.3% and #84 year-to-date, while the Peugeot 508 is up to #30 vs. #52 year-to-date, the Mazda CX-5 up 15 spots to #31 vs. #53, the Peugeot 2008 breaking into the Swedish Top 50 for the first time at #37, the Mazda3 up to #38 vs. #109 year-to-date and the Citroen C4 Picasso up #54 vs. #141 so far in 2013…
