After going through the best-selling passenger cars in November in China, let’s shed the light on the brands ranking. Keep in mind this ranking doesn’t include commercial vehicles nor imports. Below Volkswagen still reigning supreme at 177,843, Toyota surprises, gaining 3 spots and 25,000 units on October to stop just short of 100,000 sales in November at 97,508. The RAV4 and Vios both hitting nameplate records this month are partly to thank for this performance. In spite of lodging the best-ever monthly volume for a Japanese model with the Sylphy, Nissan is down one rank on last month to #3 but up 13,000 sales to 95,273. Hyundai and Honda are also both down one spot on last month but up volume-wise to 92,008 (+12,000) and 81,833 (+8,000) respectively.
Further down, Kia passes ChangAn to get back inside the Top 10, Chery and DongFeng bypass Audi, Citroen is now above Haval thanks to the success of the new generation C-Elysee and C4L, Mazda jumps two spots to #23 as does BMW to #28 while Beijing Auto is up 4 to #29 with the E-Series passing the 10,000 monthly unit-mark for the first time in November. While notoriously not as successful as they wished at home, there are still 23 Chinese carmakers inside the Top 40 brands this month and 38 among the Top 60… Chrysler rounds up the ranking with one lonely unit sold.
