Thanks to Irina from www.akab.kz, I can share with you October sales data for Kazakhstan, one of the (if not the) most dynamic car markets in the world this year. This month the Kazakh new car market is up a mammoth 73% year-on-year to 17,056 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 133,150 units, up an equally out-of-this-world 76% on 2012. To put things in perspective, let’s remind ourselves that the previous 2 best-ever Full Years for new car sales in Kazakhstan were 2012 at 95,313 registrations and 2007 at 60,513!
The top of the models ranking is stable with the Lada Priora (+26%), Samara (+45%), UZ-Daewoo Nexia (+67%) and Lada Granta (+72%) leading the way like in the year-to-date ranking, while the Hyundai Accent is up one spot on September to #5, passing the Lada 4×4 down 2 to #6, and the GAZ Gazelle and Lada Largus exchange positions to #7 and #8 respectively. The best performance this month is delivered by the Renault Duster breaking into the Kazakh Top 10 for the first time since BSCB has been following Kazakh sales monthly last May, up a huge 793% year-on-year to #9 with 395 sales and 2.3% share.
