Half-way through October, the French new car market is stable (+0.5%) year-on-year but French manufacturers only account for 43.8% of sales with Peugeot down 4%, Renault up 39% on a horrendous month in October 2012 and Citroen down 18%. Reversely, Toyota is up a fantastic 12% to #5 brand and Mercedes is up 36% to #10. Most little anomalies of the start of the month are already corrected: the Peugeot 208 stays on top for now but is down a surprising 20% year-on-year to 2,636 sales, it should be passed by the Renault Clio 4 soon, already just 40 units below the Citroen C3 at #3.
The Renault Scenic is back above the Citroen C4 Picasso II at #5 with 1,383 sales (+34%!) vs. #7 and 1,331 units and the Renault Captur is above the Peugeot 2008 at #6 and 1,377 sales vs. #8 and 1,330. There are two foreigners left inside the Top 10: the VW Polo holding strong in 4th position with 1,575 units and the Toyota Yaris at a formidable 9th place with 1,266 sales.
