After a one month-hiatus due to the troubled situation in the country, Egypt is back on BSCB. September new car sales are just down 1% year-on-year to 18,420 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 141,965 units, up 0.4% on 2012. The Top 3 best-sellers are identical to the year-to-date ranking this month: the Hyundai Verna leads the way with 2,362 sales and 12.9% and reclaims the 2013 top spot from the Chevrolet TFR (aka Isuzu D-Max) at #2 with 1,473 units and 8.1% while the Chevrolet Lanos rounds up the podium with 1,240 sales and 6.8% share.
After lodging an incredible 2nd position in August, the Geely Emgrand 7 confirms it is definitely now part of the big boys by ranking #4 in September thanks to 1,236 units sold for a 6.8% share, and now only 14 sales below the Chevrolet Aveo year-to-date for 4th place overall. Notice also the Speranza Envy (aka Chery E5) up to #18 vs. #32 year-to-date, the Renault Fluence at #25 vs. #37, Jinbei Haise at #31 vs. #54, Speranza M11 at #45 vs. #95 and Subaru XV at #49 vs. #69.
