Thanks to SMMT Scotland in the UK is now a monthly update on BSCB. Keep in mind these figures are already included in the UK sales, this is just a zoom in. Scottish new car sales are up a very healthy 10% year-on-year in July to 12,038 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 117,781 units, up 14% on 2012. The Ford Fiesta is more than ever the most popular model in the nation with 879 sales and 6.6% share in July, improving its year-to-date level to 5.6%. It is followed by the Vauxhall Astra up 2 spots on June thanks to 510 units and 3.8% while the Ford Focus remains #3 at 3.5%.

The Nissan Qashqai is back in great shape, up 4 ranks on last month to #4 with 427 sales and 3.2%, the VW Golf is back inside the Scottish Top 10 at #5 and 359 units, the Vauxhall Corsa is down 4 spots to #6 and both the Nissan Juke at #8 and 1.9% – its highest ranking in any nation of the UK, and the Kia Sportage at #9 and 1.6% make their appearance in the Top 10. Finally, the Renault Clio is down one spot to #10.
