The Moroccan new car market is down 7% year-on-year halfway through 2013 to 73,200 registrations, a decline solely due to the struggling passenger cars segment, down 9% on 2012 while light commercial vehicles are up slightly. Brand-wise, Renault’s low-cost brand Dacia holds onto its pole position with sales up 4% to 17,248 for a magnificent 23.6% market share. Renault follows in spite of sales down 9% to 11,352 and 15.5% share. These two brands are the only ones managing a market share greater than 10% in Morocco over the period. Notice also Hyundai up 10% to #4, Fiat up 21% to #6 and Nissan up 9% to #9.
