Netherlands October 2012: Mégane #1, Volvo V40 up to #4!

Another worrying month for new car sales in the Netherlands, down 28% year-on-year to 26,896 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 454,122 units, down 9% on 2011. For the 5th time in the last 6 months, the Renault Mégane tops the Dutch models ranking with 1,700 sales and 6.3%. The Ford Focus is up a huge 22 spots to a fantastic 2nd place at 1,609 units and 6% while the VW Up!, leader last month, rounds up the podium with 1,168 sales and 4.3%.

But the best performer this month in the Netherlands is easily the Volvo V40, up 13 spots to a formidable 4th place with 1,080 sales and 4% share, compared to #5 and  3.9% at home in Sweden. The Peugeot 208 stays at a brilliant 5th position thanks to 979 units and 3.6% while the Peugeot 508 is up 7 ranks to #11, the Toyota Prius+ remains robust at #13 and the Toyota Prius is up 8 to #20.

Now to the update between the Kolin and Bratislava sisters. This month again the Kolin siblings are in the winning seat: the Citroen C1 is up to #6 with 913 sales and 3.4%, the Peugeot 107 is down 4 spots to #7 at 830 units and 3.1% and Toyota Aygo stays #10 with 590 sales and 2.2%, adding up to 2,333 units and 8.7%, down from 9.3%. In the meantime, the Skoda Citigo is down 2 to #24 at 278 units and the Seat Mii down 7 to #26 with 267 sales. With the VW Up!, the Bratislava sisters add up to 1,713 units and 6.4% vs. 8.4% in September.

Opel Ampera

Further down, the Opel Ampera is up 8 ranks to #31 with 241 sales and 0.9%, the Kia Cee’d stays solid at #33, the Citroen DS5 is up a huge 44 spots to #55 and the Opel Mokka makes its first appearance in the Dutch models ranking at #69 with 89 units sold.
