Turkey February 2012: Fiat Linea reclaims pole position

Traditionally coming with one month delay, Turkish car sales for February are down 25% year-on-year at 29,189 registrations, bringing the 2012 year-to-date total to 50,266 units, down 27% on 2011. For the fourth time in the last 12 months and the second time in the last 3, the Fiat Linea is the best-selling model in Turkey in February with 2,046 sales and an outstanding 7% market share. The Renault Symbol stays #2 at 5.9% and the Renault Fluence, leader last month, is down to #3 at 5.8% but still #1 year-to-date at 3,146 units and 6.3%.

The VW Polo continues to excel, up to #4 with 1,002 sales and 3.4%, so does the Ford Focus sedan at #5. The Hyundai i20 hits its highest ranking ever in Turkey at #6 with 862 units and 3%, the VW Golf is at its strongest in over a year at #10, the Nissan Qashqai is back up to #13 and the Citroen C4 is up to #21.
