The Venezuelan car market is down a worrying 20% in November at 9,064 sales, bringing the year-to-date total to 108,779 units, down 5%. Surprise on top: the Ford Fiesta is #1 for the second month in a row and the third time in the last 8 months with an outstanding 12% market share thanks to 1,087 sales! It is however still #2 year-to-date with 10,048 units and 9.2% vs. 15,700 and 14.4% for the Chevrolet Aveo, crumbling down to #8 this month with 434 sales and 4.8%…
The ageing first generation Hyundai Getz (the 2005 facelift hasn’t reached Venezuelan shores yet, let alone the Getz replacement: the i20) holds itself onto an impressive 2nd place at 687 units and 7.6% while the Ford F350 is up 4 spots on October to land on the podium at #3 and 7.1% share. The Toyota Corolla is up 2 ranks to #4 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is up 4 to #5. Other great performers this month include the Toyota Fortuner up to #7 and 4.8% vs. #14 and 2.8% year-to-date, the Ford F250 up to #10 and 4.5% vs. #19 and 1.6% and the Dodge Caliber up to #11 and 3.7% vs. #21 and 1.5%.
