Car sales are up 3% in Canada this month to 140,361 registrations. At this stage only the passenger cars Top 10 is available with the Hyundai Elantra holding the pole position in that category for the 4th consecutive month. This is getting serious! The Korean model sells 3,886 units in August for a 2.8% market share.

Like in July it is followed by the Mazda3 at 3,606 units and 2.6% but this month the Chevrolet Cruze jumps onto the podium at #3 with 3,365 sales and 2.4%. The Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla also gain one spot to #4 and #5 respectively, because of a very weak month from the Honda Civic, down 3 ranks to #6 and 2.2%, pretty normal given the new generation is hitting dealerships soon.
