Brazil mid-September 2011: Renault Sandero up to best-ever #7

The Brazilian car market is up 2% over the first half of September at 142,490 registrations. The Top 6 best-selling cars are identical to the year-to-date ranking: the VW Gol leads at 8.7% ahead of the Fiat Uno (8.1%), Chevrolet Celta (4.6%), Chevrolet Corsa Sedan (3.9%), Fiat Strada (3.7%) and VW Fox (3.6%).
The Renault Sandero comes in at #7, its highest ranking ever, also reaching its highest market share ever at 3.1% thanks to 4,460 sales. The VW Voyage is also solid at #8 with 2.7%.
Further down the ranking, the Chery QQ improves again at #38 and the Kia Picanto new generation is a huge hit, up no less than 108 spots on August to an impressive 40th place with 804 sales. Notice also the JAC J3 dropping out of the Top 50 (#52), the Renault Fluence delivering its best ranking ever by far at #54 and the JAC J6 up 20 spots to #77.
Other great performers include the Fiat 500 up 59 spots to #84 at 307 units and the Chevrolet Cruze up 75 spots to #89 with 297 sales, the first time in the Brazilian Top 100 for both models. The newcomers: the Fiat Freemont landing directly at #95 with 267 units sold, the VW SpaceCross at #107 with 187 sales and the Renault Duster at #143 and 72 units.
