David, I´ve been in Brazil several times too. Full imported cars are quite expensive with a tax of almost 80% over! The porsche 911 sold in Brazil (only 2 models available there and extremely rare on the roads) are directely imported from porsche Brazil in São Paulo together with the cayenne 4×4. The class C, Bmw serie 1 and 3, Lexus IS, LS, Ford Mustang, Fusion, Edge are considerated luxury cars but are not so expensive and we can see some on the roads mainly in São Paulo. Porsche sold about 30 or 40 cars per year maximum.

Matt, great resource! Just curious, having been to Brazil a number of times, I thought that many of the cars on your list were brought over by importers. For example, C class cars. However, now that I checked, Mercedes is selling directly in Brazil.
Do you know where I can find a list of cars that are sold as imports on a one-off basis, such as porsche 911′s, etc.? Are these “grey market” imports tracked?

The Ford Fiesta and Focus sold in Brazil are the previous models.
