Spain May 2011: Seat Ibiza, Opel Corsa & VW Polo strong

The Spanish car market is down again this month at -23% year-on-year with 78,870 registrations, adding up to 358,830 units year-to-date (-26%). The Seat Ibiza delivers its strongest market share in the country since August 2010 at 4.6% and 3,661 sales, one full percentage point above the #2, the Opel Corsa, very strong again at 3.6% and 2,828 units. It is now #3 year-to-date with 2.9% vs. #10 in 2010.

The Peugeot 207 climbs back onto the podium at #3 with 3.4% and the VW Polo excels in 4th position and 3.2% of the Spanish market ahead of the VW Golf at 2.8%. The Citroen C4 is up 12 spots on April at #7 and the Ford Focus is up 7 spots at #8. Other good performers this month include the Audi A1 up 32 spots at #28 and the Peugeot 508 up 8 spots at #36.
