Algeria April 2011: Hyundai Santa Fe in Top 10 for the first time
The Algerian car market continues on its amazing run this year, up 25% in April at 25,534 registrations and up 32% year-to-date at 100,315 units. The Renault Symbol improves on its already imposing market share to reach 11.7% in April thanks to 2,990 new sales.
Hyundai places 3 models in the Top 6: the Hyundai Atos is up 2 spots at #2 with 1,462 sales and 5.7%, the Hyundai Accent is up 1 spot at #4 with 1,266 units and 5% and the Hyundai Santa Fe delivers the performance of the month: it breaks into the Top 10 for the first time in Algeria at #6 with 931 sales and 3.6% market share.
The Peugeot 207 drops to 3rd place but stays solid at 5.7%. It is #2 year-to-date at 5.2%. The Renault Clio III is #5 at 3.9%, the Kia Picanto drops 6 spots to #8 but ranks 5th year-to-date at 3,819 sales, up 169% year-on-year. The Dacia Logan is stuck at a worrying 9th place, down 69% this month. It is #3 year-to-date with 4,023 sales and 4%, down 43%.
