After being interrupted by the Toyota Corolla in 2004, the Ford Focus reclaims the Irish models ranking leadership in 2005 with sales up a massive 64% to 10,976 units thanks to the 2nd generations now in dealerships. It stays on top in 2006 with 10,251 sales.

Toyota Avensis

Toyota monopolises the rest of the podium with the Avensis up to #2 in 2005 at 8,562 units and #3 in 2006 with 8,087 sales, exchanging positions with the Corolla #3 in 2005 at 8,034 units and #2 in 2006 with 8,237 sales.

There is a Volkswagen in 4th place both years but it’s a different one: the Golf in 2005 at 6,841 units and the Passat in 2006 with 7,523 sales, boosted up by the new generation (+124% on 2005!). The Opel Astra is #6 both years.
