Japan 2004: Toyota Corolla, Honda Fit and Nissan Cube on podium

Thanks to a light facelift, the Toyota Corolla stays on top for the 2nd year in a row, however its sales are down for the 3rd consecutive year at -13% with 173,301 units. It held the top spot 8 times, vs. 3 for the Honda Fit, #2 at 149,503 sales (-18%), followed by the Nissan Cube, up one spot and stable at 139,623 units.

The Toyota Wish drops one spot and 20% in 4th, the Toyota Crown is up 12 spots and 108% at #5 and the Honda Odyssey, #1 in January, is up 13 spots and 116% at #7. A lot of new models appear in the ranking this year: right from its launch in June, the Toyota Passo is a regular fixture in the Top10, whereas the Nissan Tiida, launched in September, is on the podium for the last 3 months of the year, peaking at 11,237 sales in October.
