The Estonian new car market marks a pause in June with sales down 2% to 2.024 units, however the year-to-date total is up 13% halfway through the year at 12.152 units. Toyota holds onto the brands pole position thanks to a round 300 sales in June and 14.8% share, lifting its year-to-date tally to 1.735, up 22% on the same period in 2015. Skoda (10.7%), Volkswagen (9.5%), Honda (7.8%) and Renault (7.6%) follow while Opel (#8) and Ford (#12) impress. Model-wise, the Toyota Auris takes the lead this month thanks to 111 sales but the Skoda Octavia remains the favourite nameplate in the country so far this year (567 sales) above the Nissan Qashqai (502) and Toyota Avensis (462).

Estonia January-May 2016: Octavia reclaims #1 spot off Qashqai

Estonia returns on BSCB with more detailed data. You will find below the jump complete monthly by month sales from January to May 2016 for all brands and all models in the country. The overall Estonian new car market is up a splendid 16% year-on-year over the first five months of 2016 to 10.128 units and market leader Toyota frankly outpaces this growth to consolidate its leadership at +26% to 1.435 deliveries for a 14.2% market share. The Japanese carmaker is followed by Skoda (+15%), Renault (+15%), Volkswagen (+11%) and Honda (+5%), with Hyundai (+40%), Subaru (+48%), Mazda (+59%), Land Rover (+227%) and Alfa Romeo (+255%) posting particularly impressive gains. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia reclaims the pole position off the Nissan Qashqai – #1 over the Full Year 2015 – thanks to 466 sales and 4.6% share vs. 455 and 4.5% for the UK-made SUV. The Toyota Avensis rounds up the podium followed by the Honda CR-V like in 2015, the VW Passat is up to #5, the Subaru Legacy up to #8, the Toyota RAV4 up to #9, Kia Sportage up to #12 and the Skoda Superb is up to #13. Among new models, the Hyundai Tucson (#35) and Renault Kadjar (#40) are the most popular.

It’s a stable year for Estonian new car sales, down just 0.3% or just 65 sales to 21.070 registrations. Toyota keeps the brands lead by far despite sales down 6% to 2.732 and 13% share ahead of Skoda up 1% to 9.8% penetration. Renault (+26%) and Nissan (+36%) brilliantly leap forward from #4 and #6 in 2014 to #3 and #4 respectively this year. Peugeot on the other hand drops 32% and three ranks to #10. Notice also Opel (+44%), Hyundai (+24%), Land Rover (+58%) and Mini (+100%) all posting significant gains. Model-wise, thanks to sales up a gigantic 72% on a year ago, the Nissan Qashqai snaps the pole position off the Skoda Octavia (-8%) while the Toyota Avensis gains 29% and 3 spots to round up the podium thanks to the new model. The Honda CR-V (-9%) drops to #4 while new generations also boost the Skoda Fabia (+268%), VW Passat (+40%) and Subaru Legacy (+33%) into the Top 10

Estonia October 2015: New generation pushes Toyota Avensis to #1

New car sales down 6% year-on-year in October pull the year-to-date Estonian market into negative territory at -0.4% to 18.089 registrations. Toyota stays on top albeit with a weaker market share this month at 11.9% vs. 13.2% so far this year, Renault jumps four spots on September to #2 and 9.8% share, Skoda remains third, Volkswagen is up one rank to #4, Hyundai up 3 to #7 and 5.8% vs. 3.7% year-to-date, Ford is up to #10 and 3.6% vs. 2.9% and Audi surges 9 ranks to #11 and 3.6% market share, almost double its year-to-date level of 1.9% (#15). Thanks to the new generation now in full throttle, the Toyota Avensis manages to snap up the Estonian pole position this month and for the first time since BSCB started following Estonia monthly a couple of years ago. The Nissan Qashqai, although knocked down to 2nd place, continues to lead the year-to-date ranking with ease at 5.5% share. Other great October performers include the Renault Mégane up 36 spots on September to #3 and almost single-handedly responsible for Renault’s performance this month, the VW Passat is up 6 ranks to #5, the Dacia Duster up 3 to #7 and the Honda HR-V advances 28 spots to #18 while the Hyundai Tucson remains inside the Top 20 at #17.

The Estonian new car market posts a tiny growth rate in September at +0.8% year-on-year to 1.846 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 16.125 units, up an equally small 0.3% or 43 sales on the same period in 2014. Toyota remains the most popular manufacturer in the country with 13.9% share but this month Nissan jumps back up 3 spots to #2 overall with 12.2% of the market vs. 8.3% year-t-date, overtaking Skoda (11.4%) while Honda is also up 3 ranks to #4. Over in the models aisle, the Nissan Qashqai takes off at a very strong 7.1% market share above the Toyota Avensis (4.2%), Auris (3.8%) and Skoda Octavia (3.8%), while the Suzuki Jimmy leaps back into the Top 10 and the Hyundai Tucson lands at #16.

New car sales in Estonia are down 4% year-on-year in August to 1.567 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 14.279 units, up just 29 sales on the same period in 2014. Toyota (13%) and Skoda (9%) top the brands ranking as usual, with Volkswagen and Renault both overtaking Nissan to #3 and #4 respectively and Peugeot jumping 7 spots on July to #7. The Nissan Qashqai (5.7%) is teased for the title of #1 model this month by the Toyota Avensis, selling just 3 units less thanks to the new generation now widely available. The VW Passat is up to #5 vs. #10 year-to-date, the Dacia Duster is solid at #6, the Peugeot 508 is up 22 ranks to #16, the Renault Kadjar up 10 to #36 and the Mazda CX-3 up 13 to #37.

Very stable new car market in Estonia with July up 3 units year-on-year to 1.945 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 12.712 units, up 0.8% on 2014. Toyota (13.5%) and Skoda (12.4%) dominate ahead of Nissan (12%), Volkswagen (9.4%) and Renault (6.4%) while Subaru is up 4 spots on June to #6 and Suzuki up 4 to #14. The Nissan Qashqai is head and shoulders above the competition this month with 163 sales and 8.4% share above the Skoda Fabia up 10 spots on June to #2 and 4.4% and the Skoda Octavia down one to 4.3%. The VW Passat shines at #7 (+12), as do the Nissan Pulsar at #10 (+14) and the Subaru Forester at #12 (+19). The Renault Kadjar lodges a second consecutive month inside the Estonian Top 50 at #46 just as the Mazda CX-3 breaks into it for its first month in market at #50.

The Estonian new car market continues to be very healthy: up 9% year-on-year in June to 2.066 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 10.767 units, up 1% on 2014. Toyota (13.6%), Skoda (8.9%) and Renault (8.3%) lead the brands ranking in the same order as year-to-date, followed this time by Nissan (+1), Hyundai (+6) and Volkswagen (-1). The Nissan Qashqai is the best-selling vehicle in Estonia in June thanks to 125 sales and 6.1% share above the Skoda Octavia (4.6%), still leader year-to-date, the Toyota Avensis (up 11 spots on May) and Honda CR-V, last month’s #1. Notice also the Renault Captur up to #7, the Hyundai i40 shooting up to #8 and the Hyundai ix20 at #18.

The Estonian new car market is down a harsh 12% year-on-year to 1.748 registrations, pulling the year-to-date total into negative at -1% and 8.701 units. Toyota is the only manufacturer in the country to command over 10% share at 13.2% thanks to 230 sales, ahead of Skoda (9.9%), Renault (9.5%) and Honda (9.3%). The Honda CR-V manages to top the models sales charts for the first time in a full year at 4.1% above the Skoda Octavia (4%), Subaru Legacy (3.5%), Nissan Qashqai (3.4%) and Skoda Fabia (3.3%).

New car sales in Estonia are down a tiny 0.7% year-on-year in April to 2.028 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 6.953 units, up 2% on 2014. After being passed by Honda last month, Toyota reclaims the #1 brand spot it holds year-to-date with 12.7% share, ahead of Skoda (9.1%), Volkswagen (9%), Renault (7.5%) and Opel (7.2%). This month the Dacia Duster brilliantly takes the lead of the models ranking thanks to 80 units sold for a 3.9% market share. It distances the Skoda Octavia (3.6%) still leader in 2015 so far, Toyota Avensis (3.2%), Honda CR-V (3.1%) and Kia Sportage (3%) while the Subaru Legacy jumps up to #6, the VW Passat is up 10 spots on March to #7 and the Nissan Pulsar advances to #20.
