Estonia April 2015: Dacia Duster takes the lead

New car sales in Estonia are down a tiny 0.7% year-on-year in April to 2.028 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 6.953 units, up 2% on 2014. After being passed by Honda last month, Toyota reclaims the #1 brand spot it holds year-to-date with 12.7% share, ahead of Skoda (9.1%), Volkswagen (9%), Renault (7.5%) and Opel (7.2%). This month the Dacia Duster brilliantly takes the lead of the models ranking thanks to 80 units sold for a 3.9% market share. It distances the Skoda Octavia (3.6%) still leader in 2015 so far, Toyota Avensis (3.2%), Honda CR-V (3.1%) and Kia Sportage (3%) while the Subaru Legacy jumps up to #6, the VW Passat is up 10 spots on March to #7 and the Nissan Pulsar advances to #20.

Estonia March 2015: Nissan Qashqai and Honda CR-V on top

New car sales in Estonia are up a splendid 17% year-on-year in March to 1,994 registrations, bringing the first quarter score to 4,925 units, up 4% on 2014. Honda takes the lead of the brands ranking this month thanks to 209 sales and 10.5% share, two units above perennial leader Toyota at 10.4%, while Skoda (9.5%), Nissan (9.4%) and Renault (7.2%) round up the Top 5. The Nissan Qashqai, which was teasing the Skoda Octavia for #1 in February, is now clear leader with 132 sales and 6.6% share and finishes the first quarter one lonely unit below the Skoda Octavia at 296 vs. 297. The Honda CR-V shoots up 6 spots on February to #2 and 5.8%, the Dacia Duster is up to #4 and 4.4%, the Honda Civic up to #6 and 3.7% and the Subaru Legacy is back inside the Top 10 at #10 thanks to 47 sales and 2.4% share.

Estonia February 2015: Nissan Qashqai teases Skoda Octavia for #1

The Estonian new car market is down 13% year-on-year in February to 1,239 sales, bringing the year-to-date total into negative territory at -4% to 2,931 registrations. Toyota remains the most popular manufacturer in the country but sees its market share plunge to 13.6%, above Skoda (10.9%), Renault (10.7%), Volkswagen (8.3%) and Nissan (8.2%). Model-wise, if the Skoda Octavia is the best-seller once again, this month it is only two units above the Nissan Qashqai at 72 vs. 70 sales. The Renault Scénic brilliantly climbs onto the podium, up 5 spots on January, while the Toyota Auris is up one to #4 and the VW Golf up 7 to #5.

New car sales in Estonia are up 4% year-on-year in January to 1,692 registrations, and Toyota continues to dominate with 16.5% share above Skoda (12.4%), Volkswagen (9.6%), Honda (8%) and Nissan (7.1%). The Skoda Octavia confirms the pole position it held over FY2014 to topping the sales charts once again in January with 135 sales and 8% share, ahead of the Nissan Qashqai (5.6%), Honda CR-V (4.6%) and Toyota RAV4 (4%). Toyota places 4 models inside the Top 7, adding the Auris (#5), Corolla (#6) and Avensis (#7).

Estonia Full Year 2014: Skoda Octavia outsells Honda CR-V to #1

New car sales in Latvia are up a robust 12% year-on-year in 2014 to 21.135 registrations, and Toyota retains the title of best-selling manufacturer here thanks to sales up 18% to 2,912 and 13.8% share. It is followed like in 2013 by Skoda at 9.7% and Volkswagen at 8.5% while Renault, Honda and Nissan lose market share. Dacia is up 30% to break into the Top 10, Opel is up 35%, Mazda up 42%, Audi up 37%, BMW up 39% and both Suzuki and Fiat double their sales. In the models ranking, the Skoda Octavia reclaims the pole position it held back in 2011 with sales up 18%, knocking the Honda CR-V (-9%) down to #2. The Nissan Qashqai (+21%), Toyota Auris (+13%) and RAV4 (+30%) follow. Notice the Dacia Duster up 91% to #7, the Toyota Corolla up 137% to #14 and the Renault Captur up threefold to #18.

The Estonian new car market is up an outstanding 26% year-on-year in November to 1,981 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up to 20,146 units, up 8% on 2013. Toyota has a particularly strong month at 16% market share and places 3 models inside the November Top 5: the Auris at #2, Avensis at #4 and RAV4 at #5. Skoda (9.4%), Volkswagen (9.3%), Nissan (6.6%) and Renault (6.5%) follow. The Skoda Octavia cements its status of best-seller with 110 sales and 5.6%, the Nissan Qashqai is up to equal #2 and the Lexus NX300h breaks into the Top 50 at #43.

The Estonian new car market is up a very robust 16% year-on-year in September to 2,083 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 18,165 units, up 7% on 2013. Toyota maintains its leadership with a comfortable margin at 13.4% share, ahead of Volkswagen at a round 10%, Skoda at 8.4% and Honda at 6.5%. The Skoda Octavia confirms it is the new master in command, selling 106 units for a 5.1% market share and another monthly pole position. It is followed by the Toyota RAV4 up 8 spots on September to 3.3% share, the Toyota Auris and Avensis both up 5 ranks to #3 and #4 respectively. YTD leader up until August, the Honda CR-V sinks to #9 this month but remains #2 YTD for now. Other great performers include the Suzuki SX4 up to #11 vs. #26 YTD, the Peugeot 508 up to #17 vs. #34, Hyundai i20 up to #33, Audi Q5 up to #25 and the VW Up up to #29.

The Estonian new car market is up 17% year-on-year to 1,832 registrations in September, bringing the year-to-date total to 16,082 units, up 6% on 2013. The big event in the models ranking this month is the Skoda Octavia overtaking the Honda CR-V in the year-to-date charts thanks to 104 sales and 5.7% in September vs. 63 and 3.4% for the CR-V, adding up to 704 and 4.4% vs. 669 and 4.2%. The Dacia Duster rounds up the podium like in August thanks to 3.3% share, the Subaru Forester is up 6 spots on last month to #5, the Suzuki Jimny comes out of nowhere directly into 6th place, the Honda Accord is back up to #17 and the Lexus NX300h lands at #46 for its very first month of sales in Estonia. Brand-wise, Toyota is ahead at 12.4% share above Skoda (10.6%), Honda (8.7%), Volkswagen (7.4%) and Renault (5.6%).

The Estonian new car market is up 3% year-on-year in August to 1,639 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 14,250 units, up 4% on 2013. Toyota (12.9%), Skoda (11.5%) and Volkswagen (9.7%) are the most popular manufacturers this month as they are year-to-date, while the Skoda Octavia tops the models ranking for the third consecutive month with 71 sales and 4.3% share and is now threatening the Honda CR-V for the year-to-date pole position at 600 sales and 4.2% vs. 606 and 4.3%. Notice also the Skoda Rapid up a spectacular 17 spots on July to #2, the Dacia Duster up 2 to #3 vs. #8 year-to-date, the Honda Civic up a further 4 ranks on last month to #4 vs. #19 so far in 2014 and the Peugeot 208 up 10 to #5.

Estonia July 2014: Honda Civic shoots up to 8th place

The Estonian new car market is up 7% year-on-year in July to 1,942 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 12,611 units, up 4% on 2013. Brand-wise, Toyota and Skoda continue to dominate with 11.4% and 8.9% share respectively, while Volkswagen overtakes Peugeot to round up the podium with 7.5% of the market. Nissan is up to #6, Dacia remains 9th, Mazda is up to #11 and Audi up to #15. In the model sales charts, the Skoda Octavia keeps the lead it reclaimed last month thanks to 78 sales and 4% share but still trails the Honda CR-V (down to #7 in June) in the year-to-date ranking. The Toyota Auris remains 2nd, the Nissan Qashqai is up two spots on June to #3, the Peugeot 3008 holds onto a brilliant 4th place and the Dacia Duster is up one rank to #5. Thanks to the all-new Tourer variant, the Honda Civic jumps a spectacular 28 spots on last month to land at #8 while the Suzuki SX4 is up 13 to #9.
