Estonia May 2020: Skoda (-39.5%) snaps brands lead in market down -62.5%

The Skoda Kamiq is the best-selling recent launch in Estonia at #15.

New car sales in Estonia only fare marginally better in May at -62.5% to 1.107 than they did in April (-67.8%), leading to a year-to-date tally down -35.9% to 7.717. Skoda (-39.5%) resist significantly better than the market and as a result snaps the brands top spot off Toyota (-65.9%) with Renault (-64.8%), Peugeot (-66.4%) and Kia (-65.1%) in tow, all losing share year-on-year. BMW (-26.2%), Volkswagen (-53%) and Citroen (-58.8%) do best in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Dacia (-79.2%) and Hyundai (-73.2%) implode. Model-wise, the Toyota RAV4 (-56.8%) remains the most popular in the country, this month distancing the Skoda Octavia (-30.2%) and Renault Clio (-44.2%). The Peugeot 308 (-38.9%), Skoda Superb (-40%) and Toyota C-HR (-48.1%) post the best holds in the remainder of the Top 10 while the Skoda Kamiq (#15) easily tops all recent launches (<12 months).
