New Caledonia (France) June 2017: Ford places Ranger and Fiesta on top

New car sales in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory located north-east of Australia, are up a robust 10% year-on-year in June to 716 units, lifting the H1 2017 total up 14% to 4.171. Down to #5 last month, Ford reclaims the brands top spot it holds year-to-date thanks to sales up 45% to 13.5% share vs. 11.3% so far in 2017. It distances Dacia (+1%) and Citroen up 77% to 10.9% share vs. 8.6% year-to-date. Peugeot (+42%), Hyundai (+82%) and Volkswagen (+94%) also deliver spectacular gains in the Top 10 whereas Renault (-38%) and Toyota (-54%) are struggling. Model-wise, the Ford Ranger is back up 10 spots on May to land in pole position with sales up 63%, with Ford also placing the Fiesta at #2 (+83%). Meanwhile the Dacia Duster is down 22% to #3 but remains by far the best-seller year-to-date. The Citroen C3 is up 9-fold to #4 thanks to the new generation, the Dacia Logan is up 127% to #6, the Peugeot 208 up 122% to #7 and the Citroen C1 up 233% to #8.
