New Caledonia is an overseas French territory located north east of Australia, and its new car market is struggling once again with deliveries down 20% year-on-year in October to 667 units, pulling the year-to-date tally down 15% to 6.483. Ford remains the most popular brand on the archipelago and falls slightly slower than the market at 18% to 90 sales and 13.5% share, distancing Dacia (-3%) and Toyota up a whopping 86%, both at 10.3% share. Hyundai (+17%), Nissan (+36%), Subaru (+11%) and BMW (+100%) shine whereas Peugeot (-38%), Citroen (-57%) and Volkswagen (-48%) struggle. The Ford Ranger (6.4%) overtakes the Dacia Duster (6%) to claim the best-seller title this month but remains below the low-cost SUV year-to-date. The Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max make it three pickup trucks inside the Top 4. The Nissan Navara (#6), Kia K2700 (#9) and Mazda BT-50 (#11) are also popular while the Toyota Land Cruiser shoots up to #12.
