Turkey June 2014: Ford Focus and Courier shine

The new light vehicle market in Turkey is in distress: down 19% year-on-year in June to just 60,163 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 286,861 units, down 25% on 2013. After reclaiming last month the pole position it held over the Full Year 2012 and 2013, the Fiat Linea confirms it is back in charge and ranks first once again in June thanks to 2,805 sales and 4.7% share. The Renault Fluence is not far behind however at 2,598 units and 4.3% and keeps the year-to-date lead for now at 12,052 sales vs. 11,901 for the Linea. Excellent performances of the Ford Focus Sedan up 4 spots on May to round up the podium and of the Toyota Corolla stable at #4 vs. #7 year-to-date.
But the performer of the month is the Ford Courier, up 14 ranks on last month to #6 with 1,794 sales and 3% share, leading the LCV ranking as well. Notice also the Peugeot 301 up 11 spots to a brilliant 11th place, the Ford Fiesta up 12 to #12, BMW 3 Series up 9 to #19, Mercedes C-Class up a further two to #29 vs. #49 year-to-date and Dacia Logan MCV up 20 to #39 vs. #72 year-to-date. Brand-wise, below Volkswagen (13.3%), Ford shines at 12.3% vs. 9.7% year-to-date, above Renault (12.2%), Fiat (11.1%) and Hyundai (6.2%).
