Austria March 2014: Renault Mégane up to 5th place

After a one month-hiatus, Austria is back on BSCB! The Austrian new car market is down 4% year-on-year to 29,702 registrations, bringing the First Quarter total to 81,281 units, still up 2% on 2013. The new Austrian data source combines VW Golf and Golf Plus sales and put together these two models sell a huge 2,350 units this month or a 7.9% market share vs. 6% year-to-date. The Skoda Octavia passes the VW Polo to claim the 2nd spot both this month and year-to-date while the VW Tiguan is up two ranks on February to #4. The hero of the month is the Renault Mégane up to a fantastic 5th place (a rank it also held in February) thanks to 706 sales for a 2,4% share. Notice also the Nissan Qashqai back to #11 thanks to the new model, the Seat Leon up to #12 and the Opel Zafira at #18.
