Thanks to Antonio José from ACAP I can share with you today a Top 50 models ranking for Portugal, a rarity indeed! The Portuguese new car market is for once euphoric in June, up 18% year-on-year to 12,707 registrations, which brings back the year-to-date total into positive halfway through 2013 at 54,950 units, up 3% on 2012. While the Renault Megane had led the Portuguese sales charts for 4 consecutive years up until 2012, this year there is a complete change of guard atop the models ranking. The Renault Clio takes charge and even hits a huge 7.9% market share in June, thanks to sales up a whopping 159% year-on-year to 999. Its year-to-date total is up a more modest 25% to 3,159 units and 5.7%.
