Still no models ranking available for Portugal in 2013, so we’ll have to do with a complete brands ranking which is not so bad. But first let’s marvel at the 9% year-on-year increase the Portuguese new car market is enjoying in February at 7,496 registrations, putting it at +5% and 14,511 units year-to-date. After falling by 31% in 2011 and by a further 38% in 2012 to fall below the 100,000 annual units for the first time since 1985, it would seem that new car sales in Portugal have finally bottomed out and could be headed for a small improvement in 2013…

Mitsubishi Outlander Portugal February 2013Mitsubishi Outlander. Mitsubishi sales are up 136% year-on-year in February in Portugal.

Peugeot remains #3 at 666 units and 8.9% followed by BMW up a fantastic 33% year-on-year to 597 sales and 8% and Opel up an even better 49% to 540 units and 7.2% Other big gainers this month include Toyota up 47% to #11, Honda up 65% to #15, Hyundai up 34% to #18, Mitsubishi up 136% to #20 and Dacia up 67% to #22

    @Miguel
    Just because you’ve never heard of Lamborghini sales in Portugal doesn’t mean they don’t exist…There would be no need to have a Lambo showroom in Lisbon for many years now if there were no sales, and I’ve seen a few Portugal-bought Lamborghinis here, not second-hand imports.
    And saying that you can’t buy Dodge cars in Portugal is too ridiculous to comment…

    Also, if you want an Opel Mokka you can simply go to an Opel showroom, order one and wait until it is delivered. I can even give you the price if you want.

    If a showroom still had SAABs available, it is normal for sales to appear even after the bankrupcy.

    Finally, the 92% figure for Mercedes, BMW and the 80% one is completely made up by you.

    So before questioning reputable sources you should maybe question your ignorance, just a friendly advice…

    Hi friends! I use to read some automotive portuguese issues and I never heard about Lamborghini sales here in Portugal. A futebool player maybe!
    You pictured a Opel Mokka… it´s ok but this model is not even sold here in Portugal!
    Ok, these numbers can be factual but for instance Saab is out of the country 2 years ago and Dodge do not sell cars here. It´s quite strange!!

    1 Lamborghini sold???????????? Where did you get this???
    92% of Mercedes and BMW sales are due to government, state and fleet companies sales.
    80% of Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat… are due to Rent a car companies…
    We must know the finality of sales not only put them in the blog with numbers!!!!
