Japan by version December 2012: Nissan Sylphy & Subaru BRZ up

As is now the tradition, after exploring the Passenger car Top 30 and the Kei car Top 25 in Japan, we have a more thorough look at overall December sales split by version (sedan, MPV…) and with Light Commercial Vehicles added. It has been an absolutely outstanding year for the Toyota Aqua, #1 for the 11th month in a row (no interruption since last February!) with 20,397 sales, while the Honda NBOX holds the 2nd spot for the 8th time in the last 9 months at 13,646 units. The Suzuki Wagon R rounds up the podium for the third consecutive month with 12,424 sales.
Excellent month for the Nissan Note up 3 spots on November to #5 and for the Daihatsu Move/Conte up 5 to #11. The Toyota Prius is down to its worst ranking of the year at #7 while its MPV version the Prius Alpha continues to catch up: now equivalent to 87% of the Prius sales with 7,723 vs. 8,850. The Honda N-One progresses further to #9 thanks to 8,314 sales.
Further down, the Subaru Forester is up 5 ranks to #25, the Nissan Sylphy makes its first appearance in the ranking at #35, Subaru XV sales are available again at an impressive 2,090 units (#39), the Mazda Atenza (aka Mazda6) breaks into the Top 50 at #48 and the Subaru BRZ catches up on the Toyota 86 at a best-ever #61 with 1,001 sales vs. 1,091 for the 86…
