New Zealand November 2012: Corolla leads dynamic market

New Zealand car sales continue on their impressive run, up 17% year-on-year in November to 8,518 registrations and now on track to finish the year above 100,000 units. Passenger Cars are up 15% to 6,484 units while Commercial Vehicles are up 24% to 2,097. The year-to-date total now stands at 93,044 sales, up an impressive 19% on 2011. The Toyota Corolla stays #1 for the third time in a row at 462 units and 5.4% and reinforces its leads year-to-date at 4,199 sales and 4.5%.

Holden Captiva

The Toyota Hilux follows like in the year-to-date ranking at 350 units and 4.1%, while the Holden Captiva is up a brilliant 10 spots on October to land in third position with 319 sales and 3.7%, now ranking #6 year-to-date. It is followed by the Toyota Yaris up an ever better 12 ranks to #4 and the Hyundai Santa Fe boosted by the arrival of the new model, up 15 spots to #5 at 261 units and 3.1% share.

Hyundai Santa Fe 

Like in Australia, utes are in great shape this month in NZ: on top of the Hilux, the Nissan Navara is up 3 ranks to #7, the Ford Ranger is up 2 to #9 and the Holden Colorado up one to #11. Reversely, notice the Holden Commodore falling down to a paltry #10 while the Ford Focus is down 10 spots to #12 and the Mazda CX-5 back up to #14.
