You wrote, “Notice also that only 4 models within the August Top 30 are not mini or small cars: the VW Golf at #18, the Hyundai i30 at #20, the Kia Cee’d at #24 and the Renault Scenic at #30.” That should be 5 models, you overlooked the Peugeot 308 at #27! But otherwise a great job (as usual, I might ad).

No wonder with those extreme Danish car taxes. On top of the MRSP including value added tax comes a 105% registration tax if the price of the car doesn’t exceed roughly EUR 10,000 / US $ 13,000. If the car is more expensive, the rate is again 105% for the first EUR 10,000 / US $ 13,000 and 180% for the amount on top of that. These figures are truly amazing. Just visit the Danish websites of car brands (country code .dk) and have a look at the price lists.

It looks like the Danes have a very strong preference for the smallest class of cars.

Wow!With Up! Mii Citigo and the Aygo 107 C1 all in the Top10 the Danish Top10 have basically two cars occupying 6 positions. Those Bratislava and Kolin sisters make this market look like a family business.
