Finland August 2012: Nissan Qashqai #1 for the third time ever

Finnish new car sales don’t seem to want to recover from the April 1 tax hike, down again by 25% year-on-year in August to 7,429 registrations and bringing the year-to-date total to 79,815 units, down 10% on 2011. For only the third time ever after last January and last July, the Nissan Qashqai is the best-selling model in Finland with 326 sales and 4.4% and is now #2 year-to-date at 3,437 units and 4.3%, only 72 below the Toyota Avensis still #1 at 3,509 sales and 4.4% but #3 this month at 3.7%.
Honda Civic
The VW Golf takes the 2nd spot, up 3 ranks on July to 299 units and 4% while the both the Skoda Octavia at #4 and the Ford Focus at #5 are down two ranks on last month. The Toyota Yaris is stable at #6, the Kia Rio stays #7 which is way better than its 2012 year-to-date ranking (#12), the Honda Civic is up a massive 11 spots to #9 vs. #27 year-to-date, the Skoda Superb is up 5 to #11, the Mercedes E-Class is up 8 to #16 and the BMW 5 Series is up 10 to #20.
