Finland July 2026: Toyota at 23.4% share, BMW places i4 and ix3 inside Top 5

The BMW i4 is up to a record 4th place in Finland in July.

The Finnish new car market is up a splendid +11.9% year-on-year in July to 5,915 units, leading to a YTD volume up 1.5% to 42,502. Toyota (+51.4%) surges to 23.4% share, its highest since hitting 23.5% in January 2024. Volkswagen (+13%) is up one spot on last month to #2 with 11.3% share while BMW (+60.7%) surges to #3 vs. #7 so far this year. Volvo (-11.8%), Kia (-12.5%) and most strikingly Skoda (-46.6%) all crater. In contrast Cupra (+248.8%) breaks into the Finnish Top 10 for the first time at #10, with BYD (+253.1%), Polestar (+80%), Mercedes (+75.6%) and Audi (+44.6%) also impressive.

As for models, the Toyota Yaris Cross (+240.9%) more than triples its sales year-on-year to 7.3% share, which is double the #2 and best since last November. It grabs the YTD top spot in the process, dislodging the Tesla Model Y (+44.7%) down to #11 for the month. Toyota monopolises the podium with the Yaris (+82.1%) and bZ4X (+933.3%) both also in outstanding shape. BMW brilliantly places the i4 (+351.3%) and iX3 inside the Top 5. Other great performers include the VW ID.7 (+64%), Mercedes CLA (+1160%), VW T-Roc (+214.3%), Audi Q6 (+157.1%) and Mercedes GLC (+122.2%).
