The French new car market is down 10% over the first 25 days of June to 147,747 registrations, including 49,469 for the 19-25 June week. Traditionally Renault sales are skewed towards the end of the month and this is illustrated by the fact that there are 3 Renaults in the Top 4 this week: the Clio leads at 4.6% while the Megane is #3 at 4.3% followed by the Scenic at 4.1%. The Citroen C3 is at #2 with 4.6% and the Peugeot 208 at a slightly disappointing 5th place but with a record 3.8% share thanks to 1,894 sales this week.

In the ‘month-to-date’ ranking the Renault Scenic is still in pole position with 6,116 sales and 4.1% share and could very well resist the end-of-month assault of the Renault Clio to keep the lead over the full month for the first time since June 2005. The Citroen C3 is at a brilliant #2 with 5,878 units and 4% while the Peugeot 208 is #4 at 5,085 sales and 3.4%. The Citroen C4 is back in the Top 10 at #10 with 2.2%.
