New car sales in Taiwan are up a massive 28% year-on-year in May to 31,213 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 155,620 units, down just 0.8% on 2011. The Toyota Corolla has now been in pole position for 12 straight months, selling 3,528 units in May for a 11.3% market share, its highest since last January. The Toyota Camry holds the 2nd spot for the third consecutive time thanks to 1,700 sales and 5.4% while the Toyota Wish rounds up the podium like last month at 1,228 units and 3.9%.

The Nissan Livina is up 2 spots to #4, ahead of the Toyota Yaris (+2), Nissan Tiida (-1) and Toyota Innova (-4). The Mitsubishi Colt Plus is up 8 ranks to reintegrate the Top 10 at #11 and the VW Golf is up a huge 16 spots on April to #11, its highest ever ranking in Taiwan (it reached #11 once before in December 2011). Notice also the Ford Fiesta up to #23.
