Norway May 2012: Ford Focus and BMW X3 solid

Car sales in Norway are down 3% year-on-year in May to 12,612 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 58,302 units, up just 0.3% on 2011. The VW Golf is the best-seller in the country for the third consecutive month with 555 sales and 4.4% share, it also dominates the 2012 year-to-date ranking at 2,698 units and 4.6%. The Ford Focus is up an impressive 6 spots on April to #2 with 467 sales and 3.7%, it ranks #3 year-to-date like in 2011.
The VW Passat stays #3 at 417 units and 3.3% as does the Toyota Avensis in 4th place. Two Volvos follow: the V70 is stable at #5 and the V50 gets an end-of-life kick at +4 to #6. The VW Tiguan slows down after a record 2nd place in April, down to #7 this month. Excellent month for the Volvo V60 up 5 spots to #10 with 258 sales and 2%, the BMW X3 solid at #13 and 223 units and the Nissan Leaf up 11 ranks to #16 with 179 sales and 1.4%.
