Switzerland April 2012: VW Tiguan and Mercedes C-Class shine

Swiss consumers bought 28,834 new cars in April, bringing the year-to-date total to 107,964. No surprises on top: the VW Golf leads the way with 1,121 sales and 3.9% ahead of the Skoda Octavia at 956 units and 3.3%. The VW Tiguan climbs onto the podium for the first time ever thanks to 513 units sold for a 1.8% market share. The Mercedes C-Class also excels, up 2 spots on March to #4 with 466 sales and 1.6%, as well as the Ford Fiesta, up 7 ranks to #5 and leading its category ahead of the VW Polo.

It’s an excellent month for Ford with the Focus up a massive 20 spots on last month to #9. Other great performers include the Suzuki Swift also up 20 ranks to #11, the VW Transporter up to #15, the BMW 3 Series up 17 spots to #17, the Audi Q3 up to a best-ever 26th place, the Hyundai i20 up 21 ranks to #31 and the Audi A1 up 27 to #32.
