The Bahraini new car market is on fire in this start of the year, up a huge 143% year-on-year in March to 4,197 registrations and bringing the year-to-date total to 11,168 units, up a massive 69% on 2011. The Top 2 best-selling models stay unchanged compared to January and February: the Toyota Land Cruiser is still the most popular model in the country by far with 385 sales and 9.2% and it is followed again by the Toyota Prado at 267 units and 6.4%.

Dodge Charger

In fact Toyota holds the Top 5 positions with the Hiace up a nice 7 spots on February to #3 ahead of the Hilux and Corolla. Year-to-date, Toyota goes one further and monopolises the Top 6 with the Camry at #6. Small market means volatility in the models ranking and this month the Hyundai Accent is up 8 ranks to #8 while the Honda Accord is up 10 to #10.

Infiniti FX

Further down, great performers include the Nissan D22 up 59 spots to #16, the Toyota FJ Cruiser up 15 to #17, the Mitsubishi L200 up from just one unit sold and #177 to 53 and #20, the Hyundai Azera is up 47 ranks to #23, the Infiniti FX is up 23 to #26, the Dodge Charger is up 33 to #27 and the Nissan Civilian is up 84 spots to #41.
