Israel March 2012: Ford Focus confirms clear leadership

Israeli car sales are down 15% in March to 20,486 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 59,124 units, down 7%. The Ford Focus continues on its exceptional run, grabbing an impressive 7.6% share this month thanks to 1,554 sales and making its First Quarter total just below 5,000 units and 8.4%, over double the sales of the #2!
Brand-wise, Hyundai leads over the period with Ford #2 (up 155% on 2011!), Mazda #5 (-55%) and Seat #9 (+92%). The Hyundai i20 leads the Korean charge this month at #2 with 788 sales and 3.8% with the Nissan Micra rounding up the podium, up 13 spots on February to 754 units and 3.7%. The Seat Ibiza is #4 this month but #2 year-to-date with 2,128 sales and 3.6%, ahead of the Hyundai i25 at 2,102 units (#7 in March) and the Toyota Corolla with 1,873 sales (#11 in March).
The Mazda3, the Israeli leader for 7 years up until this year, is down to #7 over the First Quarter 2012 with 1,815 units and 3.1%. In shape in March: the Kia Picanto up 10 ranks to #5, the Renault Fluence up 23 to #10 and the Nissan Juke up 11 to #14.
