At 372,835 registrations, the English car market is up an encouraging 1.8% year-on-year in March, traditionally the year's strongest month, accounting for 18-20% of annual sales because of new registrations plates. After losing to its big sis the Ford Focus last month, the Ford Fiesta reclaims the UK pole position with 22,667 sales (its highest monthly figure since March 2010) and a strong 6.1% share. The Fiesta has been #1 for 11 of the last 12 months and is followed by the Vauxhall Corsa in March at 17,271 units and 5.4% with the Ford Focus rounding up the podium at 15,086 sales.

Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai is up 4 spots on February to a brilliant 6th place at 8,487 units and 2.3%, its highest position in the UK since June and July 2010 when it ranked #5. Having ranked within the Top 10 for the last 12 months in a row, the Qashqai is now also #6 year-to-date with 12,491 sales and 2.2%, which if maintained until the end of the year would be the highest year-end position ever reached by a Japanese model in the UK.

Another nippon car excels this month: the Toyota Yaris delivers no less than its highest monthly UK ranking ever at #8 thanks to 6,973 sales and 1.9% share. It's only the third time the Yaris breaks into the UK Top 10 and its previous best was #9 in September 2009.

four emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is a means you can remove me from

You are probably right about the Qashqai, but is’s not yet sure with the BMW.

Hey Sandeep, you were right about sales of 3-series: In Germany only 6.086 have been sold in march. Is it the same with bavarian beer? :D
