Car sales in the Netherlands are up a very healthy 12% this month at 41,264 registrations and 14% year-to-date at 538,754 units. Boosted by end-of-stock promotions on the current model before the arrival of the facelift in early 2012, the Renault Twingo leads the way for only the second time after February, delivering its best figures this year so far at 2,582 sales and 6.5% share vs. 20,842 and 3.9% year-to-date. 2011′s leader, the VW Polo, is down to #2 at 1,913 units and 4.6% vs. 24,441 and 4.5% year-to-date. The Toyota Aygo rounds up the podium at an outstanding 3.9% share.

Other great performers in the Top 10 include the Kia Picanto at #6 and 2.3% vs. #17 and 1.6% year-to-date, the Opel Agila at #8 and 2.2% vs. #28 and 1% YTD and the Chevrolet Spark at #10 and 2.1% vs. #26 and 1% YTD. Notice also the Renault Megane up 10 spots to #11, the Kia Rio at #19 and 1.6% share, the Citroen DS3 up 15 ranks to #23 with 483 sales and 1.2%, for the first time above the C3 at 309 units and 0.7%, the Lexus CT up a massive 40 spots to #39 and the new gen Chevrolet Aveo up 55 ranks to #45.

    You forgot the smart fortwo by the way, which had its best month in many, many years with 275 sales in November.

    Bravo Twingo! Bravo for the Ka too that sold 760 units in a small market!!

    The Twingo facelift is not yet available in The Netherlands, but it’s still selling great due to affordable packages and tax preferences at the 1.2 and 1.5 dCi models.
