Greece November 2011: Corsa hits highest ’11 share, Yaris up

For only the third time this year Greek car sales are up year-on-year, and in November the growth is an encouraging 17%, the largest so far in 2011, at 7,890 registrations. The year-to-date total stands at 92,127 units, down 33%. For the 9th consecutive time and the 10th time in 2011 the Opel Corsa holds the Greek pole position, and in November it hits its highest market share of the year at a massive 8.5% thanks to 670 sales. Its year-to-date market share is 6.2% at 5,687 units.

Thanks to the new generation, the Toyota Yaris is back up to #2 with a robust 447 sales and 5.7% share. It is followed by the VW Polo (4.9%) and Opel Astra (4.8%). The VW Golf is in excellent shape at #5 and 4.2% share, up from 2.4% year-t0-date. Other great performers this month include the Fiat Grande Punto up 4 spots on October to #9, the Renault Clio up 35 ranks to #10, the VW Passat up 16 spots to #12, the Mini up 33 ranks to #31 and the new Lancia Ypsilon up 44 spots to #32.
