Slovakia September 2011: Skoda Octavia leads, Kia Rio up to #15

Car sales in Slovakia are down 4% in September at 4,998 registrations, but the year-to-date total is still up by 14% at 49,954 units. The Skoda Octavia reclaims its traditional pole position with 552 sales and 11%, its highest share so far in 2011. It also leads the year-to-date ranking at 4,451 units and 8.9%. The Skoda Fabia at #2 with 305 sales and 6.1% and Kia Sportage at #3 with 152 units and 3% are both back to their traditional positions as well.
The VW Golf and Polo stay above their 2011 average shares at #4 and #5 while the Skoda Superb is up an impressive 26 spots on August to #7 with 108 sales and 2.2% share. The new generation Kia Rio is an instant hit in Slovakia: it lands directly in 15th position with 64 sales and 1.3%. Notice also the VW Touran up 66 spots to #27 and the Mercedes C Class up 56 spots to #28.

Hey STAC,
I know right? But it would split up the ranking too much and would be too confusing. Basically Slovak consumers buy A LOT of station wagons with the Fabia, Octavia and Ibiza selling more station wagons than sedans some months… I do sometimes point that out in my updates…
