Slovenia August 2011: Renault Megane & Scenic shine

The Slovenian car market is down 1% in August at 4,170 registrations which brings the year-to-date total to 41,855 units, stable. The Renault Megane delivers another outstanding month in 1st place with 230 sales and 5.5%, with the Renault Scenic the other great performer this month, up 8 spots to #5 at 126 units and 3% share.

The VW Polo is up one spot to #2 with 183 sales and 4.4%, relegating the Renault Clio into 3rd place at 173 units and 4.1%. The Clio is however still #1 year-to-date with 2,674 sales and 6.4%. Notice also the Skoda Octavia up 6 spots to #8, the BMW 1 Series up a further 9 spots to #13 and the BMW 5 Series up a massive 48 spots to reach an excellent 14th position with 70 sales and 1.7% share.

    Matt, the Clio is a hit in Portugal, there are lots of them and last year was best selling car here. the Mégane Hatcback 5 door is also quite successful as well as the Scéncic mainly the first generation. Renault leads the market a long time ago. The county is passing through a huge economical crisis and new car sales dropped dramatically! Most popular cars are: Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, Ford, Toyota, Seat, Fiat and VW.

      Hi Miguel,
      Thanks for your comment. Actually it is very rare that the Clio doesn’t rank #1 in Slovenia so I would say that the Clio at #3 is very poor in fact! :-)
      The Megane and Scenic on the contrary are doing exceptionally well this month…
