Car sales in the Netherlands are up 8% year-on-year in August at 39,368 registrations and up 19% year-to-date at 409,821 units. The VW Polo leads the way for the 5th month out of 8 in 2011 with 2,036 sales and 5.2%, its best market share since January. The Polo is the best-selling car in the country in 2011 to date at 18,150 units and 4.4%, followed by the Peugeot 107 (3.3%) and VW Golf (2.7%).

Confirming the Netherlands is its best market, the Peugeot 508 delivers an amazing 6th place this month only 2 units behind the Twingo with 985 sales and 2.5%, a level way higher than in its native France and the highest position the 508 has reached so far anywhere in the world.

Lexus CT

The other car to impress this month is the Lexus CT, up no less than 44 spots on July to land in 24th position with 479 sales and 1.2% share which is where it stands in Japan… Possibly the highest position ever reached by a Lexus model in the Netherlands.
